The Proverbs Woman

Teachings from 73 Twenty Ministries Author Linda K. Crowder

What is a woman to do? The world is pulling her in all directions and yet the Word of God declares what God's intention for women to be.
Join Linda Crowder in this study of what the Word of God declares as the beautiful Christian woman, mother, grandmother and wife is to be.

Introduction

August, 2020

In today’s day and age, is very hard to be like the woman described in chapter 31 of the book of Proverbs. There are so many things that tempt us to be more like the world, than like a woman this chapter says a woman should be.

Planning the Journey

Jesus said that before you build a barn, you have to know the cost. As we begin this Journey together, it is good to have a plan.

Is That Woman Me?

August, 2020

To better appreciate the women of Scripture, in particular the Proverbs Woman and how their lives pertain to us as individuals, we must realize that only God can give us the joy, peace, comfort and instruction needed to live a victorious life.
Women today are surrounded by stress, turmoil, fear, loneliness, grief, hurt, anger, disappointment, depression, and anxiety.  These are just a few outside factors that influence our lives on a daily basis.
We begin by searching the Scripture to understand how we should handle those areas thrown into our lives; the areas that make us miserable and useless to God.  Remember we are not perfect but as a “Born Again Believer” in Jesus we are forgiven and on the road to perfection!
One of the most important promises we need to remember in all our trials and tribulations – GOD IS IN CONTROL – no matter what happens in this life.

The Virtuous Woman

August, 2020

How wonderful and marvelous that the Bible used the word “virtuous” when he describes the attributes of the woman that young men should search out.  King Solomon is the author of the book of Proverbs, and this book is written to “young men.”
The opening sentence of Proverbs not only tells us who wrote the book but also where we get the title.  “The Proverbs of Solomon the son of David, King of Israel.”

The Fear of the Lord

August, 2020

At the end of Proverbs 31, there is a verse that reveals the secret in becoming the women God would have us be.

Key Verse:

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. (Proverbs 31:30)

Before we go any further in our study, let me ask a couple of questions? Are there different types of fear?  The answer would be yes.  Can we learn the different types of fear?  Again, the answer would be yes.

The Beautiful Christian Woman

August, 2020

In this lesson, we will study several verses from scripture that will teach us what we need to know to be beautiful women on the inside as well as outside.

Key Verse:

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. (Proverbs 31:10)

First, we should look at how we see ourselves. Then compare what we see to what God sees in us.  God doesn’t look at how old or how young, how tall or how short, how thin or how heavy, our color of skin, the color of our eyes, the color of our hair.  God looks on the heart. That is where the true beauty of a woman comes from.

The Beautiful Christian Wife

August, 2020

In this lesson, we will study several verses from scripture that will teach us how to be a beautiful Christian wife.

Key Verse:

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.  (Proverbs 31:11)

The relationship between a husband and wife began in the Garden of Eden.  We also know that from that time there have been blessings as well as problems for a husband and wife.  All through Scripture it is clear that a wife can either be a blessing or a curse for her husband.  Her decisions can encourage and uplift or bring down and destroy her marriage, which in turn destroys a family and possibly her walk with God.

The Beautiful Christian Mother/Grandmother

August, 2020

This lesson from Scripture will show us how we as mothers and in some cases grandmothers are to teach our children and the promises that result from their obedience.

Key Verse:

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. (Proverbs 31:28)

Being a Mother

We all have an idea of what a mother is but do we really know what God intends for a mother to be? As we all know there are many different kinds of mothers.  In Scripture, there are many examples of good and bad mothers.  How we raise the children God has given us will determine what kind of mother we really are.

Jezebel: The Evil Proverbs Woman

August, 2020

In this study, we are going to discuss one of the most evil women of Scripture.   We shall see that we could easily be this woman.   It is a matter of whether we choose to serve God or not.  Any woman can take care of her family whether she is good or evil.

Key Verse:

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. (Proverbs 31:31)

Since we have looked at the Proverbs Woman in our previous lessons and have seen what kind of woman God expects us to be, we will look at Jezebel and see what kind of woman God does not want us to be.

Conclusion: The Victorious Woman

August, 2020

Our studies in Proverbs 31 have shown us many aspects of the life of a Christian woman.  This brief study barely even touches all that God has for us as women.  It is therefore important that we study God’s Word and yield our life to him daily.  Only God can help us to become a victorious woman.

Key Verse:

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. (Proverbs 31:31)
