This study was born from a pastoral burden.

Over the years, I have watched many believers struggle with confusion concerning Satan and spiritual warfare. Some live in unnecessary fear. Others blame Satan for every hardship, temptation, or disappointment. Still others become fascinated with speculative teachings that move far beyond Scripture.

​

At the same time, many churches rarely address the subject at all, leaving believers vulnerable to confusion, imbalance, and spiritually unhealthy extremes.

​

Yet the Bible speaks with remarkable balance. Scripture neither ignores spiritual warfare nor magnifies Satan beyond his proper place. Instead, the Bible continually directs attention toward the sovereignty of God and the authority of Jesus Christ.

​

That balance became the heartbeat behind this project.

​

This curriculum was written to strengthen believers in biblical truth, encourage careful interpretation of Scripture, provide doctrinal stability, and help believers walk confidently in Christ without fear, sensationalism, or speculation.

​

The goal is not fear.

​

The goal is discernment, maturity, stability, and confidence in God.

Every study of Scripture is shaped by an approach to interpretation.

​

This curriculum follows a literal grammatical-historical method of interpretation. In simple terms, that means Scripture is interpreted according to the normal meaning of language, historical context, and the progressive unfolding of biblical revelation unless the text itself clearly indicates symbolic language.

​

This study approaches Scripture from a conservative theology and using only the King James Bible.

Several foundational commitments guide this curriculum:

• Scripture interprets Scripture.

• Clear passages help explain difficult passages.

• Doctrine must be built from the whole counsel of God.

• Speculation must never replace biblical authority.

• Christ remains central to all biblical truth.

Because studies concerning Satan often attract sensational or speculative teaching, this curriculum intentionally seeks to remain grounded in the biblical text itself.

Where Scripture speaks clearly, we speak confidently.

​

Where Scripture remains silent, we exercise humility and restraint.

The Bible presents Satan as a created being who fell in rebellion against God and whose final defeat has already been determined by the authority of Jesus Christ.

​

This study seeks to examine the biblical record carefully, responsibly, and with Christ at the center so that believers may grow in discernment, confidence, and spiritual maturity through the truth of God’s Word.

Few subjects generate more misunderstanding, speculation, fear, and fascination than the subject of Satan.

​

Popular culture often portrays him as nearly equal with God. Movies, novels, internet theories, and sensational preaching frequently distort biblical truth until many believers struggle to distinguish between Scripture and speculation.

​

Yet the Bible speaks with clarity.

​

Satan was created by God. He rebelled through pride. He actively opposes the work of God through deception, temptation, accusation, and destruction. But he remains under divine authority, limited by God’s sovereignty, and ultimately defeated through Jesus Christ.

​

This study follows the biblical storyline of Satan from creation to final judgment. Along the way, we will examine:

• Lucifer’s origin

• the fall of Satan

• spiritual warfare

• demons and fallen angels

• temptation and deception

• Satan’s influence in the world

• Christ’s triumph at the cross

• and Satan’s final judgment

More importantly, this study returns to the greater truth behind every chapter.

Jesus Christ reigns victorious.

The believer’s confidence is not found in understanding Satan perfectly. Our confidence is found in knowing Christ fully, trusting Scripture completely, and standing firmly in the victory already secured at Calvary.
